Korab Visoka completed his studies at the HfbK Hamburg in the field of film(Master) and time-based media (Bachelor). His photographic and filmic works are social, culturally specific or situational sequences that visualise the authentic and often also the momentary.

His video works and photographic series, which the artist brings together in an installation-like manner, are mostly in relation to topics. On the one hand, the photographs include the generation conflict and omnipresent traditional expectations and on the other hand, they give an insight into the everyday life of what he calls the “Balkansphere” or “German Tugend”. Tugend means virtue.

Another series of photographs was made at the airport in Tirana. The 35mm films received too much radiation and thus found their own abstract path of development. The “X-Ray” photos are unedited and have been taken as they are. The procedure determines the art.

This approach also plays a role in his films, such as Deutsche Schrankkultur (2022), which explores an old vocabulary of the German language, porcelain figurines, and indirectly describes the lives of retirees. Societal expectations also hold significance in the film Systemrelevant. The self-understanding of the work of caregivers/ nurses and the quickness of forgetting are highlighted. And this is not only during the Corona crisis. The film Sommerstaub, 2017 describes the search for home, the blurring of memories and is coupled with a childlike naivety.  The essayistic experimental film Klischeeerwartung, 2014 deals with an image of masculinity shaped by prejudice and radically shows the hard, insensitive man embodied by the artist himself.  Other short films deal with surreal and real images that already appear abstract.
